Distribution of Seeding Materials of Aquaculture Production (Devolved Function) is a 4-million-peso budget program of the City Government of Davao through the City Agriculturist’s Office-Fishery Resources Management Services Division (FRMSD) that seeks to sustain and access good quality fingerling, increase fish production, improved rural livelihood and promote urban aquaculture in the city. This program includes distribution of seeding materials such as tilapia, hito, bangus and siganid (danggit) fingerlings to fish farmers of Marilog, Calinan, Baguio, Tugbok, Toril, Talomo, Buhangin, Bunawan and Paquibato, and to fish cage operators in Punta Dumalag, Matina Aplaya.
For the first quarter distribution, fish farmers from agricultural districts of Davao received tilapia fingerlings, in particular:
• Marilog – 22,500
• Paquibato – 24,500
• Toril – 6,000
• Baguio – 20,000
• Calinan – 21,000
