The Davao Food Terminal Complex located at Brgy. Daliao, Toril, is a PhP 70-million project of Davao City Agriculturist’s Office under its Agribusiness and Market-Linkage Program in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture XI. The establishment of DFTC is to provide a physical-ready-market infrastructure to improve farmer-consumer trading based on prevailing supply and demand situation through organized and strengthened farmers’ organizations.
The ordinance and resolution for the implementation of the project entitled “The Davao Region Food Terminal” was approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod last December 7, 2021. The Davao Food Terminal Complex located at Brgy. Daliao, Toril, will serve as the sole wholesale marketing facility for fruits and vegetables in Davao City. It aims to create market linkages not only in the whole region of Davao but the national market through the Agribusiness Division of the City Agriculturist’s Office.
The Davao Food Terminal Complex will not only be limited to providing a physical-ready market but will expand its operations to projects such as cold storage from the Food Terminal Inc. and fruit and vegetables processing facilities from the Department of Science and Technology, among others.
The Davao Food Terminal Complex will provide the best environment for farmer and consumer trading of agricultural products. The facility can provide timely and quality supply of farm inputs to farmer-members at reasonable prices.
