The 2nd Agricultural Bi-Cable Tramline project assisted and funded by the Department of Agriculture, RFU-Xl under the High Value Commercial Crops Development Program (HVCDP) worth Php 2.7 million and its implementing arm, the Philippine Center for Post Harvest Development and Mechanization (PHILMECH) represented by Engr. Dioscoro Jamora has been installed at and turned over with the acceptance of the farmer group-recipient of Barangay Tawan-tawan, Baguio District, the Mt. Dipolog Bantay Kinaiyahan Association (MTBKA) represented by its chairwoman, Ms. Merlina Delos Santos on September 25, 2013 through the local government unit of Davao City, the City Agriculturist Office (CAO) headed by Mr. Rocelio T. Tabay. A simple ceremony and gracing of the event with the local PSL, Pastor Viller Ovalo officiated the blessing of the facility. The event was hosted by the local Barangay officials headed by Punong Barangay Danilo Gumapac, Tribal Chieftain, Datu Ruben Enangcob and MAO Pedro Cabang, Jr. with his Baguio District work force of Agricultural Technologist and the AT assigned in the area, Ms. Corazon Lorzano. Councilor Marissa Salvador Abella of the 2nd district and Committee chair of Agriculture graced the said event. Congressman Isidro T. Ungab was represented by Mr. Alberto Ungab. OIC-RED, DA RFU-XI Dir. Remelyn R. Recoter was represented by Engr. Ricardo Oate.

The Php 2.7 million project is particularly located at Durian Village, Brgy.Tawan-tawan; it spans 865 meter long from point A in Durian Village and point B, in sitio Gading of the same Barangay on the other side and about 100-200 meters high from Panigan river bed. The tensile strength of the cables capacity is approximately 400-500 kilos of agricultural products which maybe transported from pt.A to B; the bucket capacity for passenger may load up to 4 passengers only. The operations and maintenance of the agricultural bi-cable tramline will be handled by the association with the Barangay council and monitored by the City Agriculturist office. jag/mcm
